Restart the Theater Projector

Quick Answer

When the theater preshow stops, go through the newly opened No Entry door, climb over the cage using the crates, and take the stairs to the upper room.

When the theater preshow stops, go through the newly opened No Entry door, climb over the cage using the crates, and take the stairs to the upper room. Pick up the fuse from the table, install it in the fuse box beside the video player with three correctly timed inputs, then use the video player's switch to restart the presentation.

Return to the theater after restoring the equipment. When the preshow finishes, the gate on the left unlocks and leads to the exhibits. This is the early Chapter 1 theater repair in the released game, separate from the later Gift Shop floodlight fuses.

Start from the Stopped Preshow

Enter the theater using the admission token collected from the employees-only counter. That token opens the theater route; it is not the replacement part for the projector's electrical problem.

When the preshow shuts down, look for the door marked No Entry that has opened. Despite the sign, it is the route into the maintenance section at this point. Remaining in front of the stopped screen will not restore the show.

The objective is to repair the theater equipment above the room and restart playback. You do not need to return to the reception fossils for a second admission code or look ahead for the Dilo Dash flashlight token. Those belong to other tasks.

Use the Crates to Cross the Cage

Go through No Entry and use the crates on the left to gain height. From the raised position, sprint and jump toward the cage to get over it.

The height from the crates matters. The cage is a platforming obstacle in the maintenance route, so trying to walk through it from floor level does not solve this step. Get onto the available boxes first, then line up the crossing from the elevated side.

After crossing, take the stairs into the upper room. This puts you near the video player and the fuse needed for the repair. The correct destination is the equipment room above the theater, rather than another public exhibit beyond the screening room.

Pick Up the Fuse and Complete the Timing Interaction

Find the fuse on the table in the upper room. Take it to the fuse box beside the video player and begin the installation.

The interaction requires three timed button presses. Watch the moving indicator and press the prompted input when it reaches the correct point. On the PC keyboard interaction described for this repair, the input is Space; on another control setup, follow the prompt shown in your game.

Do not mash the button repeatedly. The task is timing rather than rapid repetition. A green indicator confirms a successful input, so use that feedback to judge progress through the interaction. Complete the repair before leaving the box.

No additional Gift Shop fuse is needed here. That later puzzle uses three separate floor installations and overhead connections. The theater task instead pairs a nearby fuse pickup with one timing repair beside the video player.

Restart the Player Before Returning Downstairs

After the fuse installation, press the switch on the video player to restart the preshow. The electrical repair and playback restart are separate interactions. If you leave immediately after fixing the fuse box, you can return to the theater before actually resuming the presentation.

Once the player has been switched on, go back to the theater. Let the introductory show finish, then take the newly unlocked gate on the left into the exhibit route.

That gate is the progress check for the whole task. A completed fuse interaction alone is not the end state you are trying to reach. The full chain is working fuse box, restarted playback, finished preshow, and accessible exhibit gate.

Check the Missing Step if the Theater Remains Blocked

If the screen is still inactive after your return, check the video player's switch rather than collecting another token. If the repair did not complete, return to the fuse box and watch the timing feedback through the required inputs.

If the preshow is playing, wait for its end before deciding that the exit gate is blocked. The newly accessible route is on the left after the presentation, not a continuation through the No Entry maintenance room.

A freeze or nonresponsive input is a different symptom from an unfinished repair. Record the platform, installed version, and whether the failure happens during fuse timing, playback restart, or the show itself. Steam full-game 1.0.9 and Demo 0.9.76 are separate version histories; a Demo VHS fix does not automatically describe this full-game projector interaction.

There is no verified alternate fuse location or universal reset sequence for this theater problem. Use the table, adjacent fuse box, player switch, and left-side gate as the four concrete checks before treating the sequence as a technical blockage.
