Three Exhibits Gate Switches

Quick Answer

Reach the three elevated switches using the dinosaur, the balcony branches and the stage to the security room's right. Activate all three, then return to the room and pull its lever to open the gate.

The three switches are above the exhibition floor: one is reached using the dinosaur opposite the security-room approach, one by climbing a stage and using branches behind its first balcony, and the last by climbing the stage on the security room's right side. After activating all three, return to the security room and pull its lever. The switches restore power; the room's lever opens the gate.

This is the museum exhibits objective in Chapter 1 of the full game. It is not the gift-shop floodlight sequence or the cavern's later three-switch objective. Begin after interacting with the console terminal inside the security room.

Reach the security room before searching

After the theater presentation, use the dinosaur on the right as an elevated route. Continue right over the crates and beneath the pipes, then follow the platforming to the wall opening. Descend on the far side and follow the path into the room at the end.

Interact with the console terminal. This establishes the three-switch power task. Use this room as your reference point for the circuit, because the directions to the switches depend on leaving or facing back toward it.

Do not search only around the gate at ground level. The intended route repeatedly rises through exhibition structures, and the controls you need are above the main floor.

First switch: Climb the dinosaur

Exit the security room and go straight ahead. Stop at the dinosaur on your right. Use the surrounding platforms and the dinosaur's body to climb to the top, where you can activate the first switch.

After the interaction, descend by the ladder on the opposite side. That ladder provides the onward approach toward the next stage climb. Simply reaching the dinosaur's back is not enough; complete the switch interaction before taking the descent.

Start with the platforms and dinosaur used to reach the elevated control.

Second switch: Turn back from the first balcony

From the descent, go to the stage on your right and begin climbing. At the first balcony, turn around rather than continuing to stare toward the stage. Branches behind you form the next crossing.

Use those branches to reach the switch on the other side. The balcony is the point where the route changes direction, so overlooking the branches can make the climb appear to end without a control.

Line up the next support before jumping. The relevant action here is following the branch route across to the switch, not dropping back to the floor and searching the bottom of the stage again.

Look upward for the branch crossing instead of searching only on the floor.

Third switch: Stage right of the security room

Return your attention to the security room's position. Find the stage on its right side and use the platforming route there to climb upward. Activate the switch at the top.

This third approach is described relative to the security room, while the second begins at the stage reached from the first switch's ladder. If the stages look similar after you turn around, reorient using the room before repeating the same completed climb.

The route information does not establish numbered signs on these switches. The numbers in this guide identify a useful order through the three approaches, not labels you must find on the devices themselves.

The stage and upper platform distinguish this climb from the other exhibit approaches.

Return to the lever and collect the communication gear

When all three switches have been activated, go back inside the security room. Pull the lever to open the gate. Completing the elevated circuit and opening the gate are separate actions, so a closed gate immediately after the third switch does not by itself indicate a bug.

Before leaving, pick up the telephone and the headphones near the radio. These continue the communication sequence with Stella. Then leave the room and head right toward the next exhibition route.

The following section includes electrified ground and additional platforming. You have completed the gate objective once the route opens; the next movement hazard does not require another set of museum switches.

If the gate is still closed

First check the simplest missing action: whether you returned to the security-room lever after all three elevated controls. If you did, revisit the actual switch interaction you are least certain about rather than treating a completed climb as a confirmed activation.

Keep your current objective and visible device state separate. A remaining power instruction points back to the switch circuit; an opened route with a new objective means this puzzle has already advanced. No verified puzzle-specific reset or collision bypass is established here.

The known full-game Steam baseline is 1.0.9. Its fixes for later hunt encounters do not prove a fix for this museum gate, and equivalent console patch details are not confirmed. If the complete circuit and final lever still fail, record the platform and what changed after any respawn before considering a disruptive restart.
